Description
Our November 1968 Triumph TR5, a model very rare within the Triumph family, is in remarkable, even exemplary, condition.
We can say that this Triumph, produced in Mechelen, Belgium, in a run of only 2, 947 examples, is among the models most sought-after by Triumph enthusiasts. Not only for its rarity, but also for its 2, 498 cc inline six producing 150 hp and which heralds fuel injection, with its light weight of 1, 030 kg.
An English roadster in the purest tradition with performance worthy of the era’s most sporting cars, exceeding 200 km/ h… Beyond the incredible driving pleasure it offers, this example is in exemplary overall condition. No work is to be expected.
Its bodywork alignments have been meticulously fine-tuned, its mechanicals well maintained, its upholstery and hood in perfect condition, a body and paint job without fault, redone many years ago. We have a substantial file of invoices and the complete period toolkit in its boot with its spare wheel.
With 23, 780 km on the clock, it shows no signs of any accidents. Its chrome trim is in excellent condition, the engine starts at the drop of a hat, its wooden dashboard, its three-spoke Motolita wood steering wheel, its vinyl upholstery with a white piping recalling the body’s tonneau, makes it very elegant and refined. It is equipped with a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive and seat belts installed by its owner.
Cherry on the cake, it will be sold with numerous spare parts, its user manual in French and its original yellow headlights. Our example is on a French collection registration.
More than a classic car, it marks a turning point for the brand and a true shift towards driving pleasure and power.
