BODYWORK/ WHEELS
Car has had a respray a few years ago that looks great however as it was done a few years ago so it’s not mint. With a few bubbles around the sunroof (common). But overall, it still looks stunning. Underneath is solid with no rust. It has been fully waxed oiled, and all components have been restored and powered coated. (see pics). Wheels it has mk3 Strada Abarth wheels wrapped in Yokohama A539 Tyres. With plenty of tread on them.
INTERIOR
The interior is completely standard and in excellent condition. These seats are common for wearing so fast, but these have been kept in very good condition. I currently have the mechanical clocks fitted but do have the digital ones which will come with the car, so you choose on which ones you prefer. Also have the ashtray that fits on the dashboard just not in the pictures.
ENIGNE/ GEARBOX
The engine is very strong and pulls well with the turbo being in full working order. It has just had the starter motor refurbed as it was getting a little bit lazy but now is all good again. It doesn’t have the original airbox fitted and has had an oil can fitted with a fuel pressure gauge. But all compliments the car well. Also fitted is a scorpion exhaust fitted which just sets the car off. Gearbox is all good however the gear linkage is a bit lose due to a linkage which I do have just not had time to fit it. Again, common fault on these Uno’s.
Bad Points
Unfortunately, with a car this age there are going to be a few bad points.
The car was unfortunately deemed as a CAT D on the 24th of June 2000 due to someone breaking into the car and at the time these cars was worth about £2000 so deemed economically not worth repairing. The Mot history will show the millage changing this was due to me swapping the digital clocks to the mechanical ones. I do have the digital ones so can prove this. Plus, the speedo cable stop working for a while so was not clocking up any extra millage. All this is genuine.
MY OWNERSHIP
I’ve owned this car for about 5 years and enjoyed every minute with it. Its part of the FUTOC group and has been to many shows and even a road trip to Germany to meet up with the German uno turbo club. Also has been to the Nürburgring. It is a solid little car and a reliable runner. Will be very sad to see it go but other projects forces sale. I’ve had my fun with it and its time to let someone else enjoy her.
