A rare and characterful 1970s Japanese sports saloon, this Mitsubishi Colt Galant 2000 GLII is a notably preserved example and a former Mitsubishi UK Heritage Fleet car.
It is powered by a 2. 0-litre naturally aspirated inline-four ‘Astron’ engine, driving the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
This original UK-market model was supplied new in 1974 and reportedly retained by its first owner from new prior to joining the Mitsubishi Heritage collection.
It is now offered following nearly five years in its current ownership.
The odometer indicates 60, 993 miles, though this is not warranted.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
The Colt Galant 2000 GLII was positioned as a well-appointed and refined sporting saloon within Mitsubishi’s 1970s line-up, offering rear-wheel-drive balance and strong naturally aspirated performance for its era.
This example is finished in the appealing shade of Tahitian Blue, over a light beige vinyl and patterned cloth-trimmed interior, featuring a contrasting blue dashboard, black carpets, brushed metal-effect dashboard and transmission tunnel inlays, and chrome trim highlights.
It rides on a set of 13-inch steel wheels fitted with Toyo 350 tyres.
Equipment includes a heated rear screen, Sanyo speakers, an analogue clock, a Sanyo cassette stereo, and heater and ventilation controls.
The car comes with a spare wheel, a jack, a stamped service booklet, museum documentation from its time within the Mitsubishi Heritage Fleet, and two ignition keys.

This Colt Galant’s most recent recorded maintenance was carried out in March 2021 at an indicated 60, 990 miles by Mitsubishi UK, which consisted of a full mechanical check for an MOT.
An engine oil and filter change was carried out in October 2019 at an indicated 60, 877 miles, which also included a brake service.
Other notable maintenance includes a new battery, fuel hose and clips being fitted in May 2017.
The car is reported to have been in dry storage between 2006 and 2013, and again between 2014 and 2017.
