Description
Imported from Italy in 2014 by a well established importer of classic Italian cars, this car has been owned by me since 2019. During this time, a great deal of time and money has been spent bringing the car upto the condition you find it in today.
The masons black bodywork is all original and as such has a few age related imperfections but is in generally very good condition. All the chrome work is present and in great condition.
Underneath the car is original and solid, never welded and had no under seal etc added to hide repairs. The car has had x4 205/ 70 r14 Pirelli cn36 tyres fitted in April 2026.
Mechanically, the car has been enhanced by having a rebuilt 3. 2 engine fitted and the zf ‘box from the later model installed. As these early cars are well over 100kg lighter than the later models, this has resulted in a marked increase in performance. The manual box transforms the driving experience and also gives a marked improvement in economy (@20mpg on a long, clear run).
The interior is all present and features a rare factory fitted radio. The original carpets and headliner remain in outstanding condition whilst the seats and door cards have been retrimmed in leather. Custom floor mats protect the original carpet underneath.
The car is used as regularly as possible despite me spending long periods out of the country. It always starts and drives fantastically and has never let me down. It has had a cambelt fitted in March 2026 and just passed a mechanical inspection as it is MOT exempt.
The car comes with its handbook plus workshop manual and rare parts catalogues for both the mechanicals and bodywork. Also included is the original 2. 8 engine and auto ‘box should you wish to return the car to its original configuration.
I would sum this car up as being a unique version of an already very rare and underated car. On the plus side, it is in great working order.. the rebuilt engine and attention to all the details (such as new clutch etc) when converted to manual means it has been very reliable and smooth. The minuses would be the body work is not A1 and there are various details I have not got round to addressing such as the clock not working and sourcing a motor for the ariel.
If you have any questions regarding the car, just send me a message. These are really under appreciated cars, from the fiat golden era of the late 60s…very rare in the uk. They have amazing presence, sound fantastic and are great to drive too.
