Description
Welcome to the sale of my Mini John Cooper 40 LE - S Works. Yes, I'm thinking of doing the unthinkable! I've not owned her for long, but a change in circumstances means that she could be up of grabs.
I bought her last year from Richard Williams Classic Minis, one of the best in the business. As mentioned, my car is a 40 LE, 1 of only 300 made. What makes mine even more rare is the fact that she has the S Works conversion and comes with a signed certificate, 2 sets of keys, and a folder full of paperwork and old photos... which I personally always love to see.
PLEASE NOTE ALTERATION IN DESCRIPTION. After being harassed by a keyboard warrior, including one message at 06:49am (this person was clearly loosing sleep over my simple misunderstanding!) I have now checked the paperwork and yes it is a genuine S-Works conversion that comes with a signed certificate, but the installation was carried out by a previous owner. Sorry to all the people I have inadvertently offended with this slight error! I’d always heard the Mini community was meant to be a friendly bunch! Clearly not. Annnyway, now that that’s over, I’ll carry on…
I've added some very subtle modifications to enhance the aesthetics of the car, but have retained all of the original parts should the new owner wish to take the car back to fully standard. This work could literally be done in an afternoon. No work has been done to the engine or suspension set up.
Here's a list of the modifications:
Steveston Motor Co. wooden slat roof rack, imported from Canada and professionally powder coated. Probably the most expensive modification
Roof rack mounted spotlights to match the ones on the front grill. These look epic on or off!
7" x 13" Gold Superlight Wheels with the deep dish polished rims. Fresh set of Yokohama tyres.
Lucas P700 Gold Tripod Headlamps with Halogen bulbs for both the headlights and sidelights
8 Lucas spotlight covers. Again, paid silly money for these, but they look great.
S/ Steel domed mirrors. Has to be done!
New bumpers front and back with the added end bars. Gives the car more character.
Venetian rear window blinds. Again, very rare and cost a fortune to import these! But again, they look so good.
Quad Lock phone charger that seamlessly fits in where the old ashtray once was. Very neat and essential modification.
Center mounted rear fog light. The big box one that comes as standard looks awful in my opinion.
Seat mounts, to push the front seats back slightly, and to give you a more central driving position. I'm 6ft 2" and have loads of room.
Super Soft indoor car cover
Rare Corgi Mini 40 LE Model. Number 6 of only 5200 ever made. Silly purchase but I like it. Would look good at a show and shine!
I think that's about it. I have a few other bits that I haven't added yet. Headlight Grills and what not. I'll include these in the sale.
All the electrical work has been carried out by a professional auto electrician. The car has always been dry stored and only brought out on dry sunny days. Just left her on trickle charge over Christmas. Minis and salty wet roads don't mix well.
She's in absolutely mint condition. The unmarked Grenadine Red leather against the Brooklands Green of the exterior is a treat for the eyes. Perfect colour combination, and with the gold wheels... she honestly draws more attention than a Lambo! And with the 90bhp S works engine, she's a hoot to drive. So peppy and enjoyable. The sound from the twin upsweeped tailpipes is a joy.
You would be hard pressed to find another example like this. An appreciating Classic that is super rare and in top condition with only 38000 miles from new. I'll be very sad to see her go, so be quick before I change my mind!
I'm not in any rush to sell, so no silly offers please. Just serious buyers who know what they're looking at. This would be a great addition to anyones collection.
£23, 500.
