Full documented nut and bolt rebuild in 2010 (10, 000 miles ago) by previous owner. Engine, gearbox rebuilt at that time. I've owned it since March 2021 and over that time have spent a considerable amount of money in making it a very special car including a £15, 600 back to gelcoat respray at glassfibre specialist Option 1 Sportscars in Bromsgrove last year. I have receipts for over £43, 000 that I have spent in my 5 years of ownership. Bear in mind this is on top of the full nut and bolt rebuild done by the previous owner. I can provide full documentary evidence of all the work done. The previous owner supplied the car with a CD of all the receipts and pictures of the rebuild. Hundreds of pictures and lots of detail. I purchased the car and have spent the last 5 years ironing out every little niggle and making sure it drives like I remember they did from the factory. I had one in the early 80's so I know how they should drive. I have maintained it as close to original as possible with the exception that it has an Emerald fuel injection system, fitted by the previous owner, that is an absolute joy to live with. Perfect air/ fuel mix in every gear at every rev. This really shows off what a great engine the Lotus twincam is.
I drive the car regularly as they like to be driven but avoid bad weather and in the winter it's in a heated dehumidified garage. I'm selling it earlier than I anticipated due to a hip injury which makes it difficult to get in and out of now.
I've just had it valued by Club Lotus for insurance purposes and they put it at £46, 000. I'm selling it for £25, 950.
