Description
This is my beloved 1969 GT6 MkII (which personally I think is best generation of GT6).
This is not a standard GT6, there have been a series of modifications made since the full body off restoration.
Engine swapped for a 2500cc ‘MM’ unit from a 2500PI built by Jigsaw Racing in 2018 – more useable and greater torque than the 2000cc
Triple Weber 40DCOE carbs (with uprated thermal management)
Triumph Tune intake runners
Lumenition electronic ignition
2500PI gearbox with overdrive (to cope with extra torque)
Oil cooler
Wilwood front disc brakes
Uprated differential
Jigsaw Racing CV joint drive shafts
Lowered rear suspension
Period Revolution wheels
Stainless steel sports exhaust (pretty much brand new)
De-bumpered
Cobra classic racing seats & harnesses
Alloy fuel cell centrally mounted
Electric fuel pump & Malpassi regulator
Perspex front door windows
A huge amount spent on this racing classic.
The car was used on track several times by the previous owner, but I have used it exclusively on the road. The car was restored some time ago in 2006 and I have pictures from the restoration. Since then the body & chassis have remained in excellent condition. The car is rust free which was one of the reasons I purchased this specific car. The only issue to note is that the paint has not adhered to the primer very well in a couple of areas that are not very visible and has flaked off.
The overdrive works and the car is road legal and MOT free.
This is a stunning classic car fully set up for racing, but is also fun on the road. It's great for rallies and meetings and always attracts a lot of love and attention. I fell in love with this car for it's beautiful design, great british heritage and awesome racing set up! I think this car is probably unique and gives an incredible pure driving experience. With lots of parts available and loads of Triumph experts around, this is a excellent classic to own.
