Description

1996 Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 | JDM Import | 3S-GTE Turbo 4WD | Fresh MOT | £12, 995
One of the rarest JDM performance cars available in the UK today. The ST205 GT-Four was Toyota's World Rally Championship machine — turbocharged 3S-GTE engine, full-time four-wheel drive, and produced in a total worldwide run of just over 10, 000 units across its entire production life. Finding one in usable, mechanically sorted condition on UK roads is becoming genuinely difficult.
This is a JDM example producing the full 255bhp, compared to 239bhp in UK-spec cars. Imported to the UK in 2004 and recently had over £2, 000 spent returning it to fully roadworthy condition after a period in storage. It starts first time, every time, and drives exactly as it should.
Recent Work (2025–2026):
New rear suspension, rear shoes, discs & pads, handbrake components, new battery, new alternator, oil & filter service (March 2026, JM Imports), new wheels, and aircon delete kit fitted.
Body & Paint:
Full respray in 2024 in Alfa Romeo Montreal Green — a two-stage pearlescent finish applied with panels removed. A striking colour on this car. Being upfront: the paintwork would benefit from a cut and polish, there is minor bubbling on the rear arches, surface rust beginning on the door bottoms, and door weatherstrips are worn. This is honestly reflected in the asking price, with comparable examples currently listed at £13, 500–£17, 000.
Modifications:
Aftermarket exhaust — strong tone, not antisocial. SSQV Sequential BOV included but not currently fitted.
Included with the car:
SSQV Sequential BOV, spare alternator, AC pump (needs refurbishing), standard steering wheel.
History:
Prior to current ownership, welding was carried out to the outer rear sills. Service history is limited. MOT mileage was recorded in miles rather than kilometres — DVLA correction currently in progress. Fresh MOT February 2026.
Known issues: Minor arch bubbling, small crack in rear spoiler, passenger wing mirror slightly loose, surface rust on door bottoms.
Viewing strongly encouraged. Cramlington, NE23. Happy to answer any questions. This is one of the most characterful Japanese performance cars of the 1990s — and one of the few left in genuinely usable condition. The 3S-GTE turbo pulls hard, the AWD system inspires real confidence, and the aftermarket exhaust gives it a soundtrack that turns heads without being obnoxious.
The Alfa Romeo Montreal Green respray is a genuine talking point — it's an unusual, beautiful colour that suits the ST205's aggressive lines far better than the standard white or grey most examples wore from the factory. It looks unlike anything else on the road.
Over £2, 000 has just been spent making sure it's mechanically right — new suspension, brakes, battery, alternator, fresh service — so whoever buys this gets a car that's ready to use immediately, not a project. It drives as a GT-Four should: fast, involving, and rewarding.
These cars are only going one way in value as the supply of good usable examples dwindles. This is a solid, honest car priced to reflect its cosmetic condition — not a show car, but a proper driver that will put a smile on your face every time you take it out.
