Description

Bought in 2017. This was imported from America.
Serviced by me during my ownership.
Historic vehicle, Tax free, mot free. Bought this lovely thing in 2017, from a chap who imported bikes from America. Stripped it down and replaced anything that was
in need, not an awful lot as it happens, as it was mechanically in good order, I refrained from doing a repaint as I believe the paintwork was original, apart from the left side panel which looks like it had a poor respray job done on it, the top of the tank has some cracking in the black paint, but I liked the overall look, so left it alone. It had gold pin stripping in area's but was pealing off the tank, so at sometime I removed all the pin stripping with a view to redoing it at some stage, but I quite liked it without so never got around to redoing it, I do have gold pin stripping, which will go with the bike as well as other bits and pieces. I have regularly serviced it with oil changes etc. It has always started even after it's winter lay up, ridden as much as possible in the dry, obviously caught out on occasions especially on camping trips. It has the slash Lafranconi silencers, which are a horrendous price to buy now, they are in sound condition and the noise is awesome . The mudguards are chromed, and look good, but on very close inspection the rear has a faint dusting of rust, almost indiscernible, when I got the bike I think the seller had it steam cleaned as when I dismantled it there were signs of build up of black oil and road grime in places that were missed, like the hidden side of the carbs for instance, with that and the fine rust specks on the guard I always imagined the bike in America being left unused in some old barn with the back end slightly exposed to the elements. Over the years I've owned it I have done what was needed to keep it in roadworthy condition, ie; tyres, front fork seals, all four front brake shoes, cables and so on. This is a very reluctant sale, there doesn't seem to be many loop framed Eldorado's [known as the 850 GT over here] in the UK, it has a lot of the American Police spec on it, but obviously this one was for the civilian market. The frame on the rear I forgot to remove before taking the photos, I can remove it if required, its a homemade lash up for a canvass backpack pannier, I can also leave it on along with the backpack if wanted.
