Description
This bus is a nut and bolt restoration rebuilt from a chassis by our step dad. It has always been stored in a dry garage. Although we hadn’t started it for 2 1/ 2 years, it started straightaway today (several times) and moved under its own power. It is in immaculate condition throughout but has not been regularly driven since Bob died in 2020. NB the mileage is as displayed on the odometer. The number plate can be googled for additional information. This bus was lovingly and expertly restored by our step dad who received a vehicle preservation award from the Duchess of Kent for his work. He was a coach builder and bus driver by trade, well-known and highly respected in the bus world. His meticulous attention to detail can be seen through features such as the seats which have been fully re-upholstered in bespoke commissioned material faithful to the original. This work was completed at the end of his life and most of them have never even been sat on. This is a beautiful vehicle, one of only two remaining in the world of its type. It is being sold as part of an estate and is a valuable part of Southdown Bus History. It can come with a huge collection of spare parts and memorabilia and is for preservation and use by an enthusiast.
