1964 - Leyland Leopard - Plaxton Panarama - Race Car Transporter and registered as a Camper.
I've been asked if I can find a home for this simply gorgeous 1964 Transporter/ Camper. (…and maybe the Formula Ford as well).
This is a rare beast, it’s had many well known owners starting with David & Tim Llewellyn in 1977 who converted it to carry their two racing Bentleys, and over the years it’s carried many other interesting and valuable cars to race circuits all over Europe.
It’s a 1964 Leyland Leopard with a Plaxton Panarama body. Fitted with a Leyland 680 11. 1 litre, straight six, direct injection diesel.
Restored over a 10yr period by the current owner, who stripped it back to a shell and converted it in part to a REGISTERED CAMPER. (As shown on the Log Book V5).
I have included in here photos taken from the restoration records, so that you can see how much work went into this.
This beautiful bus (or buz as the owner calls it) now needs a new owner who can use it and display it at historic racing events, with their own racer in the back.

FORMULA FORD:
The Formula Ford is a little later than the Leyland. 1971 Build - 1974 Chassis Mods.
Merlyn MK 20/ 25. This stunning example competed in historic Formula Ford in the early 2000s and has HSCC papers as a MK 20.
However, it subsequently emerged that the car's chassis was upgraded during the period to a very similar (but 1974) MK25. As such, the car is eligible for Classic Formula Ford in the UK, while still qualifying for several Historic race series in Europe and beyond.
Outwardly identical to a MK 20 car, ready to compete, having only been used in a handful of speed and hill climb events since its restoration, it has also been completely rewired. Fitted with a strong IES Ford Kent engine and Hewland MK 8 gearbox. Good history file with all previous documentation (HSCC and FIA papers) present. A good buy at £19, 999.
Includes some spares, as pictured.
Bought from Paul Matty in 2019, mainly for display purposes in the Leyland Leopard, but has been ran at various events in the last 5yrs.
