Description

Specialist in Sport & Collection vehicles in Lyon, we present this car to you—carefully selected and accompanied by a detailed presentation.

We are pleased to offer you this superb 1978 Porsche 911 3. 0 SC, restored in the spirit of the legendary 911 Carrera RS 2. 7—faithfully echoing the model’s visual cues and overall character.

Behind this build is a properly restored, genuine 911 SC, built on a sound, coherent base. Its mechanical components have undergone extensive overhaul. This is not simply a car with an RS-inspired look, but a specimen that has benefited from a significant amount of technical work, carried out with respect for its original definition—while preserving its original engine displacement as well as its original gearbox.

Finished in a beautiful Tangerine Orange, paired with a black-and-white fabric interior featuring the famous Porsche “Pepita” pattern, this 911 wins you over immediately with a presentation that’s both sporty and bright, and particularly evocative of the great Porsche models of the 1970s. It has sports seats in the front, as well as two small rear seats.

The 2, 994cc flat-six, type 930/ 10 with K-Jetronic injection, has been completely rebuilt while keeping its original displacement. The refresh involved a very large number of internal and peripheral components, including the replacement of the connecting-rod bearings, main bearings and the intermediate shaft, both timing chains and their guides, joint sets, numerous studs, specific hardware, spark plugs, the overhaul of the 3. 0-type oil pump, and the overhaul of the specific distributor.

This mechanical restoration was accompanied by many machining and inspection works: machining the block and cylinder heads, checking the crankshaft line, re-machining/ trueing several components, adjusting various ducts, and thoroughly cleaning the entire assembly. The engine was then run on a test bench after restoration, showing 210 bhp.

The original type 915 gearbox has also been rebuilt. It received a complete service, including disassembly, specific cleaning, metrology/ measurements, and the replacement of many worn parts—among them the joint set, differential and shaft bearings, the synchromesh for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gears, and the 1–2 selector ring. Its operation is excellent today, contributing fully to the quality of the car’s drive.

Visually, this 911 takes on the most iconic attributes of the Carrera RS. You’ll find the famous ducktail, mounted on the engine lid—an unmistakable signature of the model. The widened rear wings receive real 7-inch Fuchs wheels, not simple replicas, while the front end faithfully follows the codes of classic 911s with their specific wings and small air intakes. The bumpers and front bonnet also respect the Carrera RS spirit, and the engine-lid grille proudly carries the 2. 7 inscription—a deliberate nod to the icon it draws inspiration from.

The cabin has been treated with the same right spirit. The door opening straps recall the RS versions, the heater control between the seats remains true to the original-era layout, and the Momo Prototipo steering wheel fits the overall package perfectly, adding a touch that’s both sporty, understated and genuinely enjoyable to use.

On the road, this 911 offers a particularly appealing driving feel: the chassis provides a great balance, the slightly lowered suspension enhances steering precision, and the braking remains worthy of the model’s reputation.

The 911 Carrera RS 2. 7 is one of the most memorable Porsches in history—instantly recognisable thanks to its presentation, its iconic rear spoiler and its unique character. This example captures that spirit very successfully, while keeping the mechanical base and original 3. 0 SC displacement—restored properly—delivering an especially interesting blend of style, authenticity, performance and day-to-day drivability.

A recent service has been carried out by a Porsche specialist. No further costs are expected.
