Description
1955 LAND ROVER SERIES I 107” PICK UP – FULL NUT & BOLT RESTORATION – GALVANISED CHASSIS – EXCEPTIONALLY DOCUMENTED
A beautifully restored and exceptionally well documented 1955 Land Rover Series I 107” Pick Up finished in a sympathetic matt finish retaining all of the character and authenticity expected from an early Series I.
Unlike many over-restored examples, this vehicle has been rebuilt with usability and originality in mind while preserving the correct hand-built appearance, panel ripple and period feel that make these early Land Rovers so desirable.
The vehicle has undergone a comprehensive multi-year restoration between 2020–2025 with over £30, 000 spent on parts alone excluding labour, all supported by extensive invoices, receipts and handwritten restoration ledgers.
Specification and restoration highlights include:
• Galvanised replacement chassis
• New bulkhead
• Full engine rebuild
• New crankshaft, pistons, conrods and bearings
• Extensive mechanical overhaul throughout
• Rebuilt steering, braking and fuel systems
• Correct 1997cc spread-bore petrol engine
• Manual gearbox
• New canvas hood
• Reupholstered interior
• Bonnet-mounted spare wheel
• Historic vehicle status
• 7 former keepers
• Previous ownership since 2007
This is not a rough survivor nor an over-restored show vehicle, but an exceptionally well judged and highly collectible usable Series I that presents exactly as an early Land Rover should.
The underside presentation is excellent with the galvanised chassis and rebuilt components giving huge confidence compared to many examples currently available.
Supplied with a substantial history file including:
• Restoration invoices
• Parts receipts
• Handwritten build records
• Supporting paperwork and documentation
An increasingly rare and sought-after long-wheelbase 107” pickup offering outstanding provenance, restoration quality and presence.
