The inimitable Land Rover, made in Belgium ! At the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show, Rover unveiled a rival to the already legendary Willys Jeep. The new model was named Land Rover, and would very quickly become an automotive legend in its own right. In 1951, the Belgian army issued a call for tenders for a fast off-roader, with the sole condition being that it be manufactured in Belgium. It was Minerva that secured this contract after acquiring a licence from Rover to produce its own version of the legendary vehicle. The only difference was a steel body, rather than aluminium like its British counterpart. Our example is one of this small Belgian production run. It arrived in France in 2018 and joined the current owner’s collection in 2023. Today, the car is in a rather fine original condition. As for its running condition, it is in top form!
