Description
A beautiful example of the 1961 Jensen 541s manual with overdrive.
A structurally superb and mechanically excellent example of this incredibly rare GT, of the 20 or so manual 541s made it is thought no more than 2 or 3 remain, this being one of them.
This particular car was extensively restored over 15 years ago by a fastidious owner in the Netherlands, it is testament to his efforts that the car still drives perfectlly and presents beautifully, wherever it is shown it gathered a huge amount of interest, in current ownership it has been used and maintained correctly with no expense spared, however the simple mechanics have meant there has been little significant expense in keeping the car tip top.
I will not write a lot of waffle about the 541s, the history of this model is well documented online, but the bare bones are this is a genuine 50’s conceived
4 seater GT, 4 litre 6 cylinder with weslake head and triple SU carburettors, disc brakes all round and moss 4 speed gearbox with overdrive.
The structure is superb, the bodywork presents beautifully and with incredibly few flaws for a glassfibre shell restored many years ago and with no paintwork in interim, bright work is superb, sunroof works correctly, headlining, dashboard and interior seating and panelling are all superb.
The car is kept in a centrally heated garage on the outskirts of Edinburgh with access to a ramp, we are around 20-25 minutes from Edinburgh airport and train stations and will assist any serious potential purchaser who may wish to view.
Extensive photos and video are available, a live walkround is also no problem where any aspect of the car can be shown in detail.
