Purchased new by a Mrs H (‘NK’ is a Hertfordshire registration)
who worked at local hospital and use to take new born babies home in it!
At some point a move to Cambridgeshire was made and the car parked in the garage at the end of 1986 (tax disc still in the car!) due to a new car being bought the Beetle never saw the light of day until December 2023 (nearly 40 years later!!) The mileage at this point was 85, 519. At the original owners passing the car was transferred into her daughters name (owner No. 2)
December 2023 the car was discovered buried deep in the garage, covered in junk, dust and cobwebs! It was given a recommission which included; brakes, tyres, track rods, fuel tank repair, service, battery, clutch and seals along with fitting back the original (smaller) rear lights.
The Beetle has then been in use since then covering c3k miles (including a trip to a VW show in Belgium)
It is believed that the car is all original; paint bodywork etc showing signs of age and patina. (All paintwork has been given a polish and has a nice shine) All shut lines are true and there are no signs of any repairs albeit being a UK car there has been repairs to bumper mounts and it does need some welding at the end of the heater channels (pic's available but inspection is advisable)
Inside the interior is in remarkable condition - this has been given a deep clean this year. The outside of the ragtop has splits in it but this has never bothered me as its only used on dry days and is always open.
Paperwork includes original owners manual, some garage invoices from the late 70’s/ early 80’s.
The Beetle starts on the button every time (kept on a trickle charge) and i would be happy to drive it anywhere.
Four new tyres were fitted less than 500 miles ago along with LED bulbs.
This is a truly special car.
