Description
If you wanted to make an impression in the 1970s—and you were also in a hurry—you couldn’t get around the Power Limousine 450 SEL 6. 9. A vehicle engineered to the highest standards, a very strong engine, a high-quality specification and the comfortable hydropneumatic suspension—there was nothing more you could ask for.
We’re offering you such a car. The Mercedes was most likely sold via the Mercedes dealer Lorinser and was on the road in the Stuttgart area until the end of the 1980s—this is confirmed by the stamped service book. Then the car came to the north and was in the possession of the von Bismarck family. The current owner acquired the vehicle in 1997 in the Hanover area. First, the 6. 9 was stored away, and from 2006 it was completely dismantled and the bodywork restored (sandblasted, rusted sheet-metal parts replaced, cavities sealed) and then refinished in its current colour. This work is documented with numerous photos. Even today, the car still looks like a one-year-old vehicle—the paintwork shop really knew its craft.
Following these jobs, the engine was partially overhauled, the gearbox was rebuilt, the leather trim was renewed and a stainless-steel exhaust system was built for the car. All in all, the owner invested around €70, 000 in these works. The hydropneumatics were also given the necessary technical attention—everything works flawlessly.
So, the model-typical technical components have been overhauled, repaired or replaced.
The light interior trim matches the dark paintwork beautifully (“Azuritblau metallic”). In addition to the leather upholstery, the car also has an electric sliding sunroof as a special option.
The alloy wheels are Lorinser-typical from Remotec and were probably already part of the car since the 1970s. As a result, the 225 tyres are slightly wider than in the original fitment.
