1992 Rover 820 16V Tickford Turbo
Opportunities to purchase a genuine Rover 820 16V Tickford Turbo are exceptionally rare. Produced in very limited numbers and now rarely offered for public sale, these cars have become one of the most elusive modern classics to wear the Rover badge. Finding a highly original, well-preserved example such as this is rarer still.
Finished in Metallic Silver with its original grey leather interior, this 1992 example has covered just 85, 451 miles and remains highly original throughout. Powered by the 2. 0-litre 16-valve turbocharged engine and five-speed manual gearbox, it delivers the performance expected of the Tickford name while retaining the refinement that made the Rover 800 such an accomplished grand tourer.
Having spent many years in dry storage, the car has recently been recommissioned with a new battery and starts, runs and drives very well. It will be supplied with a fresh twelve-month MOT prior to sale.
The bodywork presents extremely well with straight panels and an excellent finish, while the original grey leather interior remains in impressive condition. The engine bay is clean, tidy and largely original, reflecting the care this car has received throughout its life.
The original service booklet accompanies the car, containing consistent service stamps up to approximately 72, 000 miles, with the final recorded service completed in 2005. Since then, the vehicle has covered only around 13, 000 miles before entering long-term dry storage.
There are a couple of minor cosmetic imperfections, including a small area of surface corrosion to the front passenger-side sill and minor dashboard damage from a previous phone holder. Both are clearly shown in the photographs and reflected in the asking price.
