Description

I've owned this Honda Spacy for a long while now and it was on the road and in use for a decent chunk of my ownership, but it's been a bit neglected the last couple of years as other projects have kept pushing it onto the back burner so I'm reluctantly offering it for sale in case someone with more time than me fancies getting it back on the road or living out their Sarah Connor fantasies.

It doesn't run at the moment, but it's a 4-stroke Honda so I doubt it'll take much to get it going. I turn it over on the starter occasionally to keep everything free and moving. The starter button is playing up but I've run an additional wire to the solenoid under the seat which can be touched to the battery positive terminal to engage the starter.

The headlight pop-up mechanism has never worked since I've owned the bike, so a couple of years ago I fitted the headlight assembly from a US-market CH150, which has a manual override knob to raise and lower the headlight.

The engine currently has an oil leak from the joints in the crankcase. I've temporarily fixed this in the past with leak fix putty, but ideally it needs doing properly i. e. the crankcase splitting and resealing.

The plastics are 42 years old and are cracked / split in various places, mostly around the dashboard. I do have a few spare panels to go with the bike. Cosmetically it's generally slightly scruffy but I think that can be forgiven in view of its age. There are also a few nuts and bolts missing (I put them somewhere "safe" and haven't been able to find them since) but they're all standard metric thread so not a major issue.

The tyres have plenty of tread but are pretty ancient. The front brake was sticking on last time I used the bike.

The electrics all seem to work other than the aforementioned starter button, although the dipswitch was a bit temperamental last time I tried it (needs contacts cleaning I would imagine).

There are two exhausts with the bike, both of which need work.

There is also an incomplete spares bike, which has no paperwork or key and a rather rusty frame so probably won't ever go back on the road. It still has plenty of useful bits though - including an apparently oil-tight engine if one wanted to go down the engine swap route. The engine turned over OK last time I tried it, although that was a few years ago now. The last photo shows the spares bike as it currently sits.

The main bike comes with one key, a V5C and a printout of the workshop manual.
