Description
Jaguar XK150 1958 LHD
I’ve owned the car since 2016 having bought it privately from a UK owner who had imported it from the USA in 2015.
The car is now in almost Concourse condition and it participated in the Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival at Windsor Castle in 20017
It has been kept in a locked dry garage since I took ownership but I now need the space for another car.
CONDITION
Restoration was commenced in the USA with a bare metal respray in 2009.
All chrome work was stripped and triple plated in the USA and is spotless.
Interior has been completely reupholstered in tan leather and is unmarked.
All panels fit flush with equal gaps. Sits on new chrome wire wheels with Vredestein tyres, including the spare.
The car is painted in metallic gun metal grey which was carried out in the UK in 2017 with a complete bare metal respray and is in perfect condition.
THE MECHANICS
This XK150 has a XK 3442 litre straight 6 engine with LHD.
Gearbox has been replaced with the later Moss E-type box which has synchromesh on all 4 gears.
Odometer shows 85000 miles but the engine was completely rebuilt in 2009 in USA and has only done around 2000 miles since then.
Other main points to mention:- Aluminium radiator and header tank, ceramic coated exhaust manifold, stainless steel exhaust throughout, new wiring loom, new starter motor, new alternator, new petrol pump (SU electronic, no points), carburettors rebuilt, all instruments have been completely reconditioned.
BRAKES
New discs all round, new calipers, new pads, new hydraulic pipes all fitted during original
restoration in USA.
CHASSIS
Was shot blasted and powder coated during the original body off restoration in the USA.
HOOD
The hood is brand new black mohair with wool camel lining, but over time this has shrunk a little making it difficult to latch, this can be adjusted but I have not had time to do this as I never drive it in the rain anyway.
Anything that I have forgotten to mention please feel free to ask.
Any inspection welcomed, OX15 area'
