Description
The bike was imported from the US in 2018; it originated in New York and was left garaged for ~10 years, which explains the beautiful chrome work & lack of corrosion.
It's in mostly nice original condition although it has been through Dream Machine to reinstate its original colour scheme; it's had a phenomenal amount of recommissioning work done, including:
Brakes
all calipers seals & pistons
stainless brake lines
rear master cylinder piston & seals
New pattern front master cylinder (original included)
Engine
Refurbished carburettors (has spare set)
new cam belts & cam belt tensioners
new valve guides & seals
spin on filter conversion
New inlet manifold rubbers (original manifolds & rubbers included)
New fuel pump
Ignition
New coils
new contact breakers
new condensers
Electrical:
New 7V regulator
Other
New contemporary stainless Motad exhaust system
New fork seals
New taper roller head set
Various spares including:
spare set of carburettors
inlet manifolds complete with rubbers
LH cylinder head
Fully electronic ignition system including electronic advance/ retard
The tyres have been replaced since the import and are virtually unused. I have ridden the bike a little and it performs well; it's a quiet engine with < 32, 000 miles on the clock. I am selling as the bike doesn't suit me; I am getting old and it's just too much. It's a really nice bike with quite a lot of history from the US - both bills and insurance/ registration documents, going back to '94. The registration documents seem to be analogous to UK road tax - but don't quote me on that. There are also many UK bills. I can find reference to two previous owners in the US, that doesn't mean there aren't more, just what I can see from the documentation I have.
I have the original owners manual - the front cover is quite worn and has detached from the book - but is present. There are some period hand written notes in the back of the manual.
The bike is currently with Honda Classics Specialist D&M Engineering, NG22 8UG who have completed the recommissioning work. The bike spent most of its life in the US, as far as I can tell around New York. I bought is as an alternative to my kickstart only bikes - I wanted a sweet reliable machine with electric start & the ability to cover decent mileages in comfort, without stopping every ten minutes for fuel.
