Hello, this is my 1976 MGB GT.
I will update this listing with more photos of the car, the interior, documentation and extras when I get chance.
The car has a folder with a lot of history. This is mainly old MOT certificates and a bunch of work that’s been carried out on the car over time. Not all of it is there, but alot of it is.
The car runs, drives, and breaks as it should. Pulls fine through all the gears and overdrive works. Engine starts up no issue. Tyres all have good tread left too. There are areas that could be improved with each of these however that’s reflected within the price.
Only annoying problem is the clutch seems to stick a little here and there, sometimes it’s fine but then when it’s hot as it has been recently it does bring it out more. Also the lock on the choke has gone which means the choke will need replacing.
The body work is okay, some surface rust here and there, mainly around the windscreen, rear window and on one of the front outer sills. The underbody is solid and will require no welding. Few scratches here and there too.
The interior is complete but could do with some work in my opinion. The dials all work however the bulbs for them need replacing for night time driving. Previous owner has tried to install pioneer speakers and a radio, so it comes with both but needs wiring up. The heater matrix also doesn’t work and will require a new heater motor.
In my ownership the car has received an updated starter motor, fan, ignition coil and iridium spark plugs, HT leads, expansion tank, front breaks, rear drum master cylinders and more. The car has been timed to manufacturer’s specifications and has been tuned as well as possible without a dual flow carb tuner. It could do with a proper tune up and check over at a MG specialist which was my original plan, however due to joining the forces I have to sell the car as I don’t want it to sit there not getting used.
This car also comes with a box of bits, like belts and new dials etc..
