Description
1958 Lister Knobbly Replica
Professionally built and previously registered in the UK, with all Jaguar running gear. A rebuilt 4. 2 litre XK engine, 4 speed gearbox (with overdrive) and Jaguar LSD rear end. Triple SU carburettors as per the later E Type, coil over suspension with 4 wheel disc brakes, 5 point harnesses, detachable side impact bars and a full stainless steel side exhaust system. She also has a tailored tonneau cover in blue to match the bodywork.
Built on a Realm D Type style chassis (developed by Realm Engineering for the D Type replica race series) with full aluminium interior panelling and a fibreglass body moulded from a genuine 1958 Lister Knobbly.
In case the new owner wishes to race, or hillclimb the Knobbly, she also comes with a full set of triple Weber 45DCOE carbs (with the inlet manifold, air filters and linkages) and a 5 speed Tremec close ratio 5 speed gearbox (also as new). For road use, there is a USB port and a 12 volt charging point built into the dashboard, alongside the battery cut out switch.
She comes with a copy of the book "Lister-Jaguar, Brian Lister and the cars from Cambridge", by Paul Skilleter, and a full history file of the build with photos.
Very low mileage since being built and only for sale due to needing space for a new addition to my small collection.
The Lister replica is currently in Australia, but for any interstate or international buyer, I can supply and load a 20ft container (with a current Container Safety Certificate) at an additional cost - this will allow the container to go by road, rail or sea transport. The cost of the container can easily be recouped by selling it when the car arrives.
A very faithful Lister Knobbly replica, built by Merlin Motorsport in the UK and at the behest of Mr Eike Wellhousen.
Mr Wellhousen owns and races a genuine Knobbly and the body was moulded from his own car. Previously registered in the UK and now on Qld Club rego - the 'Knobbly' plate will go with the car if the buyer is in Qld.
The Knobbly is a real headturner and great fun to drive - she's pretty quick on the road too...
