1971 Rover P6 3500 Automatic, only 9900 miles from new, Corsica Blue with leather seats with front headrests, factory fitted power steering
August Weddepohl of Sloan Square , London SW3 ordered this Rover new in the Netherlands to European specifications, but right hand drive for use at his holiday home in Holland. It has side marker lights on the front wings and the speedometer is in kilometers. He imported the car in May 1985 with 4340 kilometers on the clock.
It was sold to it`s second keeper, David Wright, who kept it until June 1986 when he sold it to Judge John MacGregor.
The Judge kept the car until October 1998 with an odometer reading of 15861Km , although the car had been off the road since 1991. The car was then dry stored by the new owner, Mr Geoffrey King of Northampton, upon his death , the ownership was transferred to his wife, without the car moving a single mile since his purchase. I purchased the car with 15894Km on the odometer, the reading is now 15935km which is 9901 miles.
Since I purchased the car it has been gone through mechanically with all new brake calipers, brake pads, all new flex pipes, new master cylinder, new reconditioned remote servo, new tyres, new oil and oil filter, new air filters, new spark plugs, ignition leads , distributor cap, rotor arm points and condenser, new power steering fluid and filter , new automatic transmission fluid, antifreeze, alternator belt, new rubber fuel pipes and electric fuel pump and filter, various new rubber bushes and grommets, gear lever bottom bush, various vacuum pipes and outer weather strips.
The car is in amazing original condition, it has never been welded and has factory chalk marks visible on the rear suspension and the boot seal.
It has not been restored or repainted , so there is the odd very small mark or corrosion spiderweb under the paint, but these are not big enough to be seen on the photographs and the car is 55 years old. There is very light pitting in the chrome on the front and rear bumpers. There is a very small, old repair on the passenger side of the bonnet that is slightly off colour, again not obvious in the photographs. There is a very small hole worn through on the driver`s seat bolster. The moths have got to the carpet in a few places , the passenger side of the gearbox tunnel and the front of the drivers side sill, they look like cigarette burns from a distance, but only minor .(All these are at the end of the photographs)
