An original UK registered from new 1972 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV, first registered in the UK 1st April 1972 and I am the 8th owner.
Purchased by me in April 2023 via Car and Classic auction from the previous owner, the vehicle at that time had been garaged for at least 12 years and appears to have been unused used by the previous owners father since 2008/ 2009. Further invoices dated back to 1977 and 1978 show significant mechanical work completed. Various old MOT, s 1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1989 and 2009 are available and appear to support the mileage completed.
Significant work was carried out on the vehicle in 2008, with supporting invoices from Benalfa dated 2008. The vehicle was non-running when I purchased but moved freely onto the collection trailer.
During the last year, significant recommissioning work has been completed and today the car is fully functional and useable, being regularly enjoyed. The work completed by me includes, replacement of Solex carburettors with Weber 40’s (original Solex ones come with the vehicle), replacement of distributor modifying the vehicle to 123 electronic ignition with Petronix Flame coil and HT lead set, removal of mechanical fuel pump replacing with Gold Flow low pressure fuel pump and Filter King fuel filter with pressure gauge - this modification enables trouble free starting and again, all displaced parts were kept and come with the car. The original 5 wheels have been professional refurbished and finished in flint grey, with New Continental Ultracontact 185/ 70R14 tyres fitted. Both front seats have been professionally recovered, including replacement foam, using Classic Alfa, period correct, seat covers - the ones fitted were well beyond usable, the rear seat covers are complete and original. Further works include brake and clutch system overhauls, replacement of most cooling system rubber pipe work with silicone hoses, engine oil and coolant replacement, auxiliary belt replacement etc. Finally, for my peace of mind, the car has been MOT’d on the 24th July 2026, and has no advisories.
The car currently has a private plate, valued at £2, 500, which may be available.
The car has nothing outstanding from a mechanical stand point to my belief. The bodywork does clean up well, as can be seen in the photos, but the next work required would be either sympathetic repairs or most likely a major paintwork effort, however, as I am now selling the vehicle, perhaps this is best left to the next keeper, who can chose to either return the car to original factory colour or to a colour of their choice.

At some point a previous owner completed a colour change of the vehicle, from what I believe is AR015 Avorio, still evident in the boot area, to AR501 Rosso Alfa.
