I sadly have for sale my 1996 1. 8S Mazda Mx5, 102k miles on the clock and second owner from new.
This is a UK spec so has no power steering or electric windows.
There has been absolutely no expense spared with this car in the 7 years I have owned it. It had two new front wings in 2021 (I have lost receipt of this but were done by Doctor Mx5 near Southampton and am still digging) Plus, two new rear arches and rear sill replacement by Lived9Lives Kustoms last August. Alongside, a full engine bay clean with rocker cover and exhaust manifold powdercoated. The rear boot seals were also replaced. I have tons of photos of all the work they carried out!
It also has a new mohair roof, replaced last summer.
The most recent MOT’s work included replacement of front lower ball joints, rear lower arms, all bushes and a small patch of welding to the passenger side inner sill.
The owner before me was a lovely couple who always kept it garaged, it has been garaged for some of my ownership but unfortunately not in the last 4 years. I do have their full binder of service history too.
It is slightly modified, lowered on Tein coilovers, doesn’t have the original steering wheel and has a Malin exhaust. A temp exhaust which I never got round to replacing so it is very loud!
A couple of other bits to note:
- bodywork and wheels(all hold air fine) aren’t in great shape, couple of scuffs and bumps around
- drivers seat has some wear to the side
- carpet is starting to lift and some exposed wires by the pedals
It’s by no means totally perfect but is a 30 year old car! I’ll be very sad to see it go.
