1995 Honda CRX Del Sol 1. 6 ESI Auto
75, 000 miles, MOT until June 2027
I am selling this car on behalf of my late stepfather, who owned it from 2016 until he passed away this year. My mother has her own car, so this is no longer needed. It has largely been used as a second car and, over their 10 years of ownership, has only done around 15, 000 miles.
It is a UK spec car, with the 1. 6-litre D16 VTEC engine producing 125PS. It has an automatic gearbox and the manual removable roof. It also has the usual equipment, including electric windows and mirrors, and has been fitted with an alarm and immobiliser, which also includes remote central locking.
During 2019, a substantial amount of work was carried out to the car. Some welding and paintwork was completed, including to the rear wheel arches. Numerous parts were also replaced, including:
- Engine mounts
- Timing belt and water pump
- Radiator
- Exhaust
- Rocker cover gasket
- Front indicators
- Anti-roll bar links
- Anti-roll bar bushes
- Rear trailing arm bushes
- Speakers
The car had Waxoyl applied following the body repairs, was fitted with 15” Dotz alloy wheels. It has had any further required maintenance carried out in the intervening years, including track rod ends, alternator, battery, and a new alarm.
The car is in good condition for its age, but is not perfect. There is some wear to the paint on the mirrors where the car has had a cover over it, and a few other marks here and there. It does come up well for a 31-year old car however. It got an advisory on the last MOT for the exhaust, which seems to be blowing slightly where the centre section meets the rear silencer. I’m sure this would be an easy fix. It might benefit from new window seals also, as I'm told it does leak a small amount (it’s generally been kept under a cover in their ownership)
We are looking for £4, 995, but will accept sensible offers. These are obviously quite rare cars now and, with the value of ‘90s Hondas increasing, you should be able to enjoy open top motoring without depreciation. Payment by bank transfer only please.
