The BMW E24 6 Series is one of the most iconic models from BMW’s golden era. Introduced in the late 1970s as a replacement for the elegant BMW coupes of the 60s, the E24 quickly became known as the perfect combination of sportiness and luxury – a true “grand tourer” created for long, fast stretches across Europe.
Designed by Paul Bracq, it is one of those that will surely go down in the history books. The long bonnet, low roofline and characteristic “shark nose” front gives the car an aggressive yet sophisticated expression. It will always look fast, even when stationary!
The model became particularly popular with those who wanted a luxurious with themselves at the wheel. While many competitors built their cars for chauffeured driving, the E24 was a car for the driver, with a driver-oriented dashboard, low seating position and a sense of control that was central to BMW’s philosophy.
