Mazda mx5 import mk1 1. 8L with itbs L476WOW
Odometer reading 181, 027km
Its a mk1 and they all have rust, spent ~£4k in May 2025 to get it through the MOT and its just gone through again with tyres and springs to be replaced if necessary.
Now all of the bad news over with, the good stuff... nicknamed "WOW" for obvious reasons, I LOVE this car, its a yellow beast, the sound is incredible, it may "potentially" shoot flames when hot (driving at night is a LOT of fun) and I'm genuinely gutted to be selling it, I'm only selling up as I'm relocating to Australia.
I have daily driven it previously, taken it on trips to Wales and a few trackdays and its never failed me. It currently lives in the garage and hasn't been used much recently as I've been favouring my FD RX7 instead.
This car was imported in 2002 and has lots of documentation from that point onwards, most of the paperwork has been retained which includes:
-Welding to get through MOT last year, this year rust wasn't an issue
-Replaced all the fluids, filters, plugs
-Added an oil cooler and Davefab catch can
-Fixed any known issues (brakes, alignment. Replaced radiator, headunit, bulbs etc.)
-Mohair roof
-Genuine Nardi steering wheel 330mm deep dish
-Rare TRLane X brace
-New roof catches and striker plates being delivered, these will be replaced prior to sale or i can post them out if sold quickly
The previous owner spent a small fortune on WOW with the majority of the work being carried out at Skuzzle Motorsport when they were still trading. This included:
-ME221 ECU / mapping (170 fly/ 140ish whp)
-Fast road cams
-Toyota 4AGE 20V Silvertop individual throttle bodies (ITBs) measure 42mm to 43mm in bore diameter
-exhaust upgrades
-bucket seats
-piston rings, head gasket etc.
-Frame rail reinforcement
-15" Rota slip stream wheels
-Rare chequered floor mats
-Strut brace
-flocked cluster cowl
-flocked A pillars, although drivers side has seen better days so you may want to remove it
