MG SA Saloon – 1937
Introduced in 1936, the MG SA represented the flagship model of the Abingdon marque and one of the most prestigious pre-war MGs of the period. A large sporting saloon that combined elegance and comfort with the character typical of the British brand.
Production remained extremely limited, with fewer than 2, 750 MG SAs built in total between 1936 and 1939. Today the international register lists just over 260 surviving examples, making the SA a decidedly rare sight even at pre-war motor car events.
This example, an SA Saloon from 1937, is equipped with the correct 2, 288 cc six-cylinder inline engine, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox.
The car was completely restored in 2004 respecting its original configuration and remains in excellent overall condition today. The bodywork is finished in the elegant two-tone combination of Sequoia Cream and Woodland Green, complemented by wire wheels with white-wall tyres.
Particularly captivating is the interior, with dark green leather upholstery, timber dashboard and trim, period instrumentation and a spacious folding roof. The interior is very well preserved and displays a pleasant patina today, perfectly in keeping with the character of the car.
The MG has been in Italy for many years and in 2014 obtained the ASI Certificate of Identity. The car is in running order, pleasant to drive and ready for use.
A rare and elegant pre-war MG, with considerable road presence, ideal for rallies, gatherings and events dedicated to historic motorcars or for a collection of British vehicles.
