Austin Cambridge A55 MK 2
A lovely example of the "High Fin " Austin Cambridge 1960. These cars were a very familiar sight on our roads right up until the 1980's but you see very few at classic car shows and events, many were favored for Banger racing in the 70's and 80's because of there heavy build.
I really would like to keep the car and have spent money on it to bring it up to a good reliable example, I have just bought a classic convertible and unfortunately iI only have one garage. The bodywork is in very good condition with just a couple of areas that could be improved, I am being fussy and most people are amazed that it looks so good, the chrome is also in good condition for its age. The engine starts first time, however long it is left and settles down to a quiet tic over, i drove the car quite a bit during the heatwaves and she kept a good temperature , only rising to the top of the Normal mark.
Everything is in working order, lights indicators, etc and the car has its original keys. The car wears its original colour "Ocean Blue" and in later years has had an old English white roof added which enhasises the same colour wheels. All the brake cylinders have been replaced this year, brake hose and pipes made up to replace any that needed it, a new girling master cylinder, a new manifold to front pipe section replaced, Carb set up, new shock absorbers , new springs, spark plugs and air filter. The car also has a servo so she pulls up very well.
The car was registered new in Horsham, West Sussex and lives 25 miles away from where it began life. The car has its original West Sussex number-plate and the original warranty is with its history as well as the suppliers index card. The front seats have been reupholstered and I'm awaiting new seat straps for drivers seat (now fitted). I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Any enquiries welcome
