Description

As bold and distinctive as it may appear today, the Chevrolet Deluxe was the mainstay of the Chevrolet range through the late 1940s and early 1950s . This one is one of the most desirable and unusual variants. A 1950 two-door ‘Styleline’ Coupé, It’s a sought-after car as a result.

This Chevy is a wonderful restoration into which a lot has been invested. Inside, this car is amazing. It was professionally re trimmed last year by a well-known upholsterer in Norfolk and the quality of the work is phenomenal. The seats and door cards are trimmed in a charcoal grey leatherette and vintage cloth and are immaculate, while there are some gorgeous details such as the deco styled stitching on the door cards , and the way the whole interior flows from front to back, the chrome around the doors even the chrome speaker covers look just right.
The headlining is faultless, the carpets near new, the dash immaculately presented in body colour with beautiful over-styled dials and switchgear, and there is a period column-mounted vacuum fan to provide extra ventilation for the driver. And bluetooth USB player.
It’s a wonderful place to sit and take in the 1950s ambience that this car exudes all over. It’s gorgeous. During its restoration by the previous owners the car was completely stripped back, and the door shuts, engine bay and boot compartment were taken to bare metal and repainted. Finished in a pale, almost pastel Green, the Chevy is an absolutely stunning car to look at – its curvaceous lines, drop-away rear end and soulful grille giving it a look that completely epitomises American car styling of the era. Added to that the period (brand new) cross ply White Wall tyres, Fulton exterior sun visor, spot lights and badges, even the discrete pinstriping make this one stunning car.
All the gauges work as they should, the heater is fantastic.
The chassis is also in excellent order and has been treated to keep future corrosion at bay.
In the past the chrome has all been completely stripped back and redone, finished in a triple-chrome coating for better longevity than the mass-produced original parts. As part of the car’s rebuild, the engine was overhauled by the previous owner and a number of new parts were fitted. It’s had a new carburettor, water pump, a rebuilt fuel pump, along with a new fuel tank, sender unit, conical wheel bearings, brake shoes and cylinders. Stainless twin steel exhaust system In addition the cylinder head and the steering box were overhauled.
It has also had a 12v electric conversion, a fitted dynamator (Down to Earth) for the ultimate period appeal. . It has discrete LED running lights, LED indicators, towing electrics and tow bar.
The OHV 216 stovebolt six is a smooth, unstressed engine in great running order, with a three-speed “three-on-the-tree” column-shift gearbox.

This car is an absolute beauty. Having had a full engine rebuild before being shipped in from the states a fair few years ago, it has had a sheltered life covering only about 14000 miles since. It has won a number of prizes, Featured in the movie the IP man and that’s hardly surprising as it has been restored with a finite eye for detail by the last few previous owners who all have clearly loved and adored it hence why i purchased it, And now Myself the present owner, having had it now for only about 2 years it has been a absolute dream to own and now sadly I am only selling it as being the owner of three other classic American cars one of which is needing serious engine work it's time to thin out the collection. It’s in absolutely stunning condition and is a wonderful car to look at, sit in and drive. A real American gem. For which I will consider all serious offers, to see it go to someone who will love it as much as myself and the previous owners have.
