Description
This is a unique opportunity to buy my beloved Chrysler Crossfire. It has had the same lady owner for seventeen years and I will be sorry to see it go but I need a four seater car and can’t really justify keeping the Crossfire as a weekend car.
Being a 2005 it’s the newest of the lower road tax bracket Crossfires.
If you’re looking for one of these you will probably already know that they have a high specification so I won’t go into detail about that. They are a very unique design and a bit Marmitey, this is what attracted me to them in the first place. It’s in very good condition in my opinion and it attracts a lot of attention and nice comments, but it has been an every day car and isn’t pristine, there are scratches on the wheels from kerbs when I’ve been parking and a few blemishes commensurate with its age.
It was MOTd recently and had one advisory which was rear tyre tread depth so I had a full set of tyres fitted for winter, it also just had an engine oil and filter change as it has done every year regardless of mileage, and it has been regularly waxoyl protected.
A few years ago it suffered a gearbox fault because coolant had got into the transmission fluid, it’s a common fault on Mercedes based cars of this era so you should check for this if you’re buying one. The gearbox was rebuilt and it had a new torque converter. The engine is smooth and quiet and I’ve never pushed it hard because there’s no need to, it has plenty of power.
If you have any specific questions I will be happy to answer them. I understand that these cars are available at very low prices now, but you get what you pay for, and I’ve spent almost my asking price on maintenance over the last couple of years. I’m not desperate to sell it so I won’t accept any silly offers. The mileage is just over 108000 and this will gradually rise as I don’t believe that it’s good for a car not to be used and I will make sure it’s driven every week until it’s sold.
