Other info – Car was originally sold by Guy Salmon Ltd as a company car for a Director of Cannon Plant Hire in Winchester. During its life it has some very committed owners, one in Chesterfield for 14 years, and a spell in Jersey for 5 years from the mid 00’s, where it was hardly used. The interior was retrimmed in 2011 on its return to UK from Jersey. Repaint into Meteorite Silver in 2018.
Lots of bills/ receipts over its life, some going back to its warranty period and work undertaken by Jensen Motors as well as later work undertaken by Jensen Parts and Service in the 1980’s. Other receipts show work carried out by Cropredy Bridge Garage (who also sold it at one point in it’s life) and also Appleyards who are both renowned Jensen specialists.
In my ownership, I have continued previous owners’ very good care and have been committed to improve the car. It gets noticed all the time because of its condition and appearance.
Some of the work I have carried out (receipts available);
• New upgraded aluminium radiator and twin Spal electric fans.
Original radiator and twin hi-speed fans retained and can be supplied with car if wish to reinstall to factory spec.
• New front and rear shock absorbers and poly bush kits to rear spring mounts and anti-roll bar.
• Full stainless steel exhaust system including ceramic coated tubular manifolds
• New air-conditioning condenser, Sanden compressor, filter drier and pipework. System installed, fully overhauled and recommissioned by Fen Air Ltd (UK leading air conditioning specialists).
• Fosseway ‘Big Brake Kit’ front brake upgrade. 4-pot front calipers and grooved discs. New front and rear pads inc handbrake pads. New brake master cylinder and full system fluid flush.
• Reconditioned the existing power steering pump, fitted refurbished power steering rack (Kiley-Clinton), new low and high pressure pipework to system. Full system flush.
• New Powerlite 100amp performance alternator.
• New Holley carburettor including Edelbrock aluminium intake manifold, gaskets and engine bay fuel feed pipework.

• Due to the material used in the casting process, Interceptor door handles badly pit and corrode with age. I have replaced both external door handles with new stainless steel matching units. Door locks and springs overhauled. Passengers door remote locking solenoid replaced.
• Period fit Motorola 114S radio upgraded to FM/ DAB radio receiver and Bluetooth connectivity. Original 70’s radio looks really period with working tuning buttons but modern radio reception and device connectivity.
• Spare 17” alloy wheel included with sale.
Bodywork, glass and structure, extremely solid, no rust, rot or corrosion present. Underside and arches fully waxoyled and Lanoguard protected. Paintwork/ Exterior in very good condition. Paint has been prepared, clay-barred and had a ceramic (Feynlab) coating including recent top-up.
Interior in excellent condition, seat facings front and rear are in beautiful condition with nice clean patination of use since retrim 15 years ago. Front bespoke ‘Jensen’ branded carpet mats.
Original Jensen handbook at car’s registration still with the car plus a copy of the workshop manual supplied by Martin Robey Ltd.
This is an exceptionally well cared for, maintained, improved, and looked after example of a great classic GT.
The car is a complete pleasure to drive around town or on longer journeys, always catching the eye and getting comments. Only selling as due to us downsizing home, I’m losing my garage storage and work space. Viewing recommended to appreciate how nice this example is. As we all tend to do with classic cars, I’ve spent way more on the car than I thought, but the bills and receipts bare out how well it’s been cared for and improved, as well as the condition of the car itself. As all the classic car buying advice goes, always buy the best possible example you can find. I've had the pleasure of great ownership of this car. I'll be sad to see it go.
