Description
Model History: The last evolution of the first production Porsche, the 356C, produced between 1963 and 1965, embodies the culmination of an emblematic model born in 1948. Renowned for its build quality, exemplary road-holding and timeless elegance. From the outset, the Porsche 356 made a name for itself in competition: Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, Le Mans, etc. Its agility, lightness and reliability made it a formidable rival in the GT classes. The 356C, the last version before the arrival of the 911, benefits from this wealth of racing experience, adopting four-wheel disc brakes - a first for the range. And it retains the pure, refined lines that have made the model such a success. The flat-4 engine, still air-cooled, produces up to 95bhp in its SC version. In all, 16, 678 examples of the 356C were produced, broken down as follows: - 13, 509 coupés, of which 3, 747 were made by Karmann (the rest by Reutter, which became Porsche) - 3, 169 cabriolets, produced solely by Reutter/ Porsche The Porsche 356C represents the perfect synthesis between traditional craftsmanship and technical advances, marking the end of an era and the birth of an enduring myth.
