We are excited to offer on behalf of one of our customers this highly collectable 1956 Porsche 356 pre A Speedster.
For many years, 2shores has been offering selected first grade examples of collectible automobiles. This two owner pre A Speedster is one of those offerings!
History:
One of the most desirable Porsche collector models is the 356 “Speedster”, introduced in late 1954 after Max Hoffman advised the company that a lower-cost, somewhat spartan open-top version could sell well in the American market. With its low, raked windscreen (which could be removed for weekend racing), bucket seats and minimal folding top, the Speedster was an instant hit, especially in Southern California. A total of 4854 speedsters were built (all years combined). It was replaced in late 1958 by the “convertible D” model.

Speedster # 81222 is the 12th to last of the rare and early pre A Speedsters.
Finished in stunning Signal Red over black interior, this automotive icon has been with the same California owner since 1966!
Over the years, the car was restored twice, the last time in 1997. The owner enjoyed and drove this car regularly and it was serviced by Frank’s Automotive in Sacramento for 60 years!
This is a wonderful, rust-and accident free Speedster with a 60 year, one owner California history.
The original engine was lost over the years and replaced by a 912 powerplant bored to 1722cc.
This Speedster is nicely dialed in and runs and drives just amazing. Ready to be enjoyed for the spring season.
