Porsche 356 C Cabriolet 1600 Cabriolet 1965 Chassis N° 161477 Gearbox N° 84271 Engine N° P712368 Matching Series 616/ 15 Bleu Bali Very nice example of Porsche 356 C in its cabriolet version. Ultimate evolution of the 356 which replaced the 356B from 1963. Some improvements were made to the cooling system to optimise reliability. They were produced until May 1966, in an unusual and rare colour: Bali blue, which blends perfectly with the beige interior. This car belonged to a very large American collector who acquired it in the 1970s. A Porsche enthusiast who had owned other examples of the 356 and who restored this one a few years ago, the current owner acquired it after restoration, in particular for its Bali Blue colour. The car arrived on French soil in 2024. The bodywork is beautifully presented. The alignments are of good quality. When we put the car on the deck, we noticed that there was no corrosion. Some parts, such as the floor, were reworked during the restoration. It is fitted with 4 Vredestein Classic 15' tyres and the wheel trims are in good condition. The upholstery has been very well preserved since the restoration. It has beige imitation leather seats, the seats of which have been redone. The door panels look good, and the navy blue dashboard is impressive. The instrumentation is functional. The car has recently been serviced by a specialist, including: - a complete clutch change - replacement of the brake hoses and callipers (front and rear) - carburettor overhaul The last oil change was carried out in April 2025.
The type 616/ 15 engine is fed by two WEBER 40 carburettors, and a full inspection has just been carried out, revealing that the engine block is watertight, runs smoothly and operates without vibration or abnormal noise.
Fitted with the original 741/ 2C 4-speed gearbox, this 75hp car is a pleasure to drive, with plenty of torque and a certain ease of handling. The new soft top cover and various body accessories are supplied with the car. This car has the particularity of an unusual colour and has been meticulously maintained by its previous owners.
