The Porsche 356 is the very first production Porsche, launched in 1948 by Ferry Porsche, son of Ferdinand Porsche. Based on the mechanicals of the Volkswagen Beetle, it rapidly evolved into a refined, lightweight and agile sports car. It became a success, especially in the United States, where it embodied the European sports car par excellence.
The 356 C is the latest generation of the 356 series, produced from 1963 to 1965.
There was also the 356 C 1600 SC version, 95 hp, therefore more powerful, aimed at sports drivers seeking better performance while retaining the model’s iconic styling.
