This Porsche 356A T1 has been thoroughly upgraded and rebuilt with a strong focus on quality. Below is an overview of the main work and upgrades carried out on the car:EngineThe engine was bored out to 1720 cc in 2016 and has covered virtually no mileage since. Although it is not a matching-numbers unit, high-quality components were used throughout, including a new AA pistoncylinder kit, 912 heads with German valves, 912 rockers, and a new Webcam camshaft. The engine is equipped with NOS Italian Weber 40 mm carburetors with Vintage Speed stainless air cleaners and original Porsche throttle linkage, finished in silver CAD plating. It also features a stainless four-tip Abarth exhaust, stainless heater boxes, a 12V generator and new voltage regulator. The Fram oil filter housing has been fully restored in the correct orange paint, and all engine tin has been powder-coated in satin black. The engine bay is upholstered in Pre-A style. Compression ratio: 9. 0:1. A technically high-quality engine build, ready for use and visually showworthy. Transmission ChassisThe transmission has been completely rebuilt with new bearings and synchronizer rings not matching numbers. The axle tubes are powder-coated, fitted with new German wheel bearings, single-piece axle boots, and all bushings have been renewed. Sachs shock absorbers and a slightly lowered rear end provide a sportier stance that matches the front. The steering system has also been renewed, featuring a rebuilt ZF steering box, new tie rods, king and link pins, stabilizer rubbers, and steering coupler. The aluminum brake drums have been refurbished and are within factory specifications. The brake system is entirely new, including wheel cylinders, brake lines, shoes, master cylinder, and handbrake cables. Ready for reliable driving pleasure. InteriorThe interior has been reupholstered in the cars original red color. Replica Speedster seats were upholstered by Autos International in California, finished in red with plaid inserts. The seats are mounted on metal tiltslide frames originally wood with stamped chrome rails. The rear seat and door panels were also done by Autos International. Red German boucle carpets have been fitted throughout, including behind the seats. A German headliner and sun visors are present. The upper door caps were powder-coated in the original redburgundy color, matched to an original paint sample. The original steering column has been retained, and the steering wheel has been professionally restored, including a Porsche reproduction horn button with crest. The original ignition switch and restored square-end door handles complete the interior. A nicely finished cabin with attention to originality and craftsmanship. ExteriorThe car has been painted in Aquamarine Metallic Blue, the original color in which this 356 was delivered in 1957. The paintwork and final finishing were carried out by Porsche-certified Cosmos Collision. The left door hinge plate was deliberately left in original paint as a reference the rest of the car was precisely matched to it. Equipped with European bumpers and correct low bumper guards. The car features an original Sigla windshield, European Hella headlights with period-correct markings, and new taillight housings with European lenses. All chrome work has been polished or triple-chrome-plated by Alberta Plating. The date-coded fuel tank is powder-coated in satin black. All rubber seals and window gaskets have been replaced. The car is fitted with a correctly anodized reproduction hood spear and reproduction wiper arms with matching blades. The wiper motor has been rebuilt and converted to 12V. The car rides on Vintage 190 aluminum wheels.
