The Appeal
First founded all the way back in 1902, International Harvester specialised in tractors, ploughs and...well, harvesters. The company's impressive build quality and rugged range of side-valve engines made for perfect commercial road use, too, and soon gained a very real reputation amongst rural and business clients alike.
Built from 1937-1940, the D-15 model stake farm truck was unusual in the fact it took a little bit of art deco styling under its wing, with its round-nosed profile becoming a common sight across much of the American midwest. They're a deeply handsome truck, right down to the unusual deco instrument surround, and with their hefty fixed-chassis bay, they were capable of carrying everything from eggs to lumber.
Previously based in Canada, this handsome example reached British soil in 2015, and became very well known in commercial enthusiast circles. During its time in the English climate, it's taken part in the HCVS London-Brighton run, and in 2021 was driven 350 miles to the Newark Tractor Show - while carrying a small International Farmall Tractor, to boot.
Purchased from Car and Classic in 2023, it's now ready and waiting for its lucky new owner.
