The Appeal
Dropping the 2.6L six cylinder C-Series motor under the 100’s sculptural bonnet delivered the performance to match those potent looks. It was a huge hit stateside.
Few cars remained on this side of the pond, but this BN4 2+2 is one of them. It was discovered as a ‘barn find’ and subsequently restored by the previous keeper over 13 years. He loved it so much that he hung onto it for 41 years in total.
Attractively finished in light blue, it is suitably debumpered and fitted with Minilite-style SCP alloys that pump up the visual drama. There are a few light cosmetic points to note to the bodywork and the dark blue interior is in fine order. The vendor tells us that the engine was rebuilt some years ago. It is reported to run well with no smoke or untowards issues.
The 100/6 is where the Big Healey story really hit its stride. This early RHD ar looks great and we’re told drives equally well.
The vendor says:
“Subject to an older rebuild the engine runs smoothly holds excellent pressure, with no signs of smoking. Drives superbly, a very usable example ready for Mille Miglia or other classic rallies.”
