Descrição
This Land Rover is one of my finds of a lifetime!
Chassis no the details below makes this a Home Market Series 2 RHD 2. 25 Petrol. The colour is Welsh Grey which is rather rare.
Tax and MOT exempt
I acquired it in 2015 from deepest Wales near Machynlleth from its second owner.
Purchased new in Buckinghamshire and registered as 625 RKX which it still wears to this day.
The 1st owner lived in Beaconsfield but had a farm in Wales which is where it was sent and lived from 1961 until 1987. It was supplied with a snow plough which would have been useful in those days!
Very few miles were done and by 1972 only 27, 000 miles had been driven.
The second owner who I bought it off was an electrician and used it occasionally and sparingly bringing the mileage up to 37, 500 when I took possession in 2015.
I kept it for a couple of years and then sold it to Scotland where it was enjoyed and is now back down South again and ready for a new owner.
The patina of the paintwork is just superb and has worn down to the Birmabright in places.
Original Elephant Hide sprung seats.
The chassis is original and still has the chassis number stamped on the front dumb iron.
The rear crossmember was replaced a few years ago.
The chassis is solid but has surface rust and could do with a good rub down and then be treated with waxoil or similar.
The bulkhead is very original and sound and in 2015 I had a new drivers footwell put in to a high standard.
The engine no the details below is the orginal and is superb.
It starts on the button and ticks over beautifully and pulls well.
The gearbox and clutch operate well with no jumping out of gear.
I have just had the brakes overhauled with new wheel cylinders all round and it now pulls up well and straight.
A new petrol tank has just been installed as the old one was leaking.
The canvas is from Under Cover Covers and is only a few years old in good condition.
Can come with a Hardtop if you prefer to the Canvas.
You will struggle to find another genuine Series 2 (not 2a) like this that is so original with an amazing history and low owners.
It has always been on the road and never derelict like so many.
Can be viewed off Junc 14 M4 Near Hungerford Berkshire
