An absolute time warp, this delightful Rover Metro has come to us from a local owner who bought the car new from Lex Mead in Maidenhead in June 1990. The car has covered a mere 6515 miles from new supported by a wad of MoT certificates and service history. The owners manual, service records and welcome pack are still with the car as are the supplying dealer mats which have preserved the carpets beautifully.
As you would expect, the car drives perfectly and being the later K series engine, rare in 8 valve form, it is mated to a 5 speed gearbox and with reassuringly positive brakes, makes for a modern driving experience.
Recently pumped up, the suspension provides a very comfortable ride and makes light of the potholes and given the mileage, the car is taught and rattle free.
With a light interior and lots of glass, the cabin really is rather pleasant and being the Si model is treated to plush velour seats, pile carpet, radio, internally adjustable mirrors and central locking.
This must surely be one of the lowest mileage Metro's available and in remarkable condition. If you are considering a 'modern' runabout but would like something a bit different, this little wonder would make an excellent alternative.
