1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback 390 V8 2dr with manual Column Shift gearbox. Finished in factory Rangoon red with black bench seats and interior, factory optioned chrome movable search lamps/ door mirrors and American Racing 15in polished alloy wheels fitted with Cooper Cobra RWL tyres.
Purchased new in 1964 by its only US owner, a Sheriff from Sevierville, Tennessee until its importation in 2018 by its only UK owner resulting in the Galaxie having had just 2 owners in 60 years.
Fully restored previously in the States and presenting in outstanding condition throughout. The 390ci 6. 4 litre V8 has been rebuilt with new performance intake manifolds, carburettor and a mild performance camshaft. A dual Flowmaster exhaust provides the distinctive V8 burble and a front servo disc brake conversion gives it the braking power a car the size of the Galaxie needs.
Comes supplied with a comprehensive history file which includes its factory specification build sheet, handbook, restoration invoices and numerous items of associated paperwork. Complete with factory jack, tools and spare wheel.
A rare opportunity to possess one of the truly iconic Fords of the early sixties that you will see at many period race events around the world. This outstanding example however is not destined for the track but would certainly be a candidate for the star of any show you might care to take it to.
