1926 Vauxhall 14-40 Princeton Tourer
The Vauxhall 14-40 made its debut at the 1921 London Motor Show, with the first deliveries reaching the public the following year. Designed by Clarence King, this new model featured a 2. 3 litre 4-cylinder engine mounted in-unit with a three-speed gearbox.
Six models were listed, including two and four door Tourers, three styles of saloon, plus Landaulette and Coupe models.
1924 saw the introduction of the improved ‘LM’ Series, with a higher compression engine now developing 40 bhp. A four-speed gearbox was now fitted, as were wire wheels in place of the previous disc type. As with the larger Vauxhall models, the 14/ 40 was much favoured in the Antipodes, as well as many other parts of the Empire where road conditions demanded a sturdily built motor car.
This Vauxhall has been in her current ownership for the past 21 years during which time she has had much work undertaken. Regular maintenance by her engineer owner has ensured excellent reliability.
Presented in very good order throughout this quality Vintage Tourer has full weather protection.
There is history dating back to 1933 including the buff RF60 logbook showing the car to have had one long term owner from 1933 to 1963.
She retains her original Surrey registration number.
