The Appeal

For modern enthusiasts, the final version of the 3000 was arguably the best. The MkIII received a power hike to 150bhp, better brakes and a more luxurious interior. Most went to the USA, the car’s main market, but many, like this car, have returned home to satisfy insatiable demand for these most evocative of classic British two-seaters.

This car is one of the best we’ve seen in a while. An extensive history file of photos and invoices documents its restoration in attractive Healey Blue with a matching dark blue roof and interior. The condition is impressive and would certainly stand out at shows.

The mechanical specification matches the aesthetics. Healey specialist Dennis Welch rebuilt the engine and included a cylinder head with stainless steel valve seats. The head has been polished and gas flowed, and there is a lightened and balanced flywheel. The MOT history indicates that the speedometer was zeroed when the car was rebuilt, although this is not verified, and it now shows a mere 2,342 miles.

The car comes to market in very good order, as you can see in the photos. It arrives with recent service, new battery, replacement wiper blades and new headlight units. There is also the added transparency of a lengthy, advisory-free voluntary MOT valid to July 2026.
