The Appeal
Here is something a little special for fans of Jaguar’s era-defining super saloon. The 3.8L ‘MOD’ Mk2 is one of those rather special classics, yet with most already fully restored, buyers who want to restore and perhaps bespoke or individualise their cars are left with few choices.
With much of the mechanical and cosmetic restoration work already done on this Mk2, here is a chance for the buyer to apply the finishing touches. It is a really interesting car too, because the DVLA records and buff log book indicate that it has had just two keepers from new, the current one for many years.
The interior was professionally retrimmed and the woods refurbished in 2020 and the engine has been extensively overhauled. Other work includes new clutch, exhaust, rear springs and shock absorbers The radiator has also been refurbished.
The classic British Racing Green paintwork and some of the exterior chrome would benefit from renovation to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the car. Once done, you have one of the best British saloons ever built, and one with some interesting and rare provenance.
The vendor says:
“Vehicle in good usable condition but would require more work on the paintwork to make it excellent.”
