The Appeal
The Mini Cooper S MK1 was the star. This was the focal point of Mini's sporting pedigree, combining compact dimensions with performance that dominated the rally scene in the 1960s, pulling utterly remarkable performance out of Issigonis's legendary city car. The 1275cc variant offered here is from the most powerful of the Cooper S range and one of the last MK1 examples produced before the MK2 update in late 1967 - and it's in remarkable condition.
This Mini Cooper S has been returned to its factory-correct Island Blue, with its original Old English White roof. All of that is perfectly coordinated and complemented by the original Dove Grey and Gold interior trim. The vendor reports that they've invested over £10,000 in having the car mechanically restored, too - it's an utterly fine car, ready for its new owner.
