The Appeal
Introduced in '62, the 250 V8 was the first Daimler to share one of Jaguar's platforms, and the last to use its much-loved 2.5-litre block that had become so synonymous with the company's success. The start and end of an era respectively, both of which went some way to make this a deeply beloved car. Indeed, it became the best-selling car in Daimler's history.
This particular example from 1968 offers an intriguing blend of originality and thoughtful upgrades. It appears in smart condition with an evocative, elegant patina, while practical modifications, such as the race-specification aluminium radiator and discreetly installed modern navigation system, make for an altogether more practical drive.
With evidence of previous road rally participation and possible connections to the renowned Coombs dealership, this 250 V8 comes with character and history that sets it apart.
