1969 Rover P5B Coupé

Highlights

  • Rare left-hand drive example
  • Previously owned by Thierry de Montcorgé, a notable automobile figure
  • Desirable metallic grey with navy blue roof specification
  • Low mileage of 73,634 kilometres
  • Always garage-kept and protected from the elements

The Appeal

Boasting Rolls-Royce levels of luxury and refinement in an elegant, understated package,  the Rover P5B Coupé was favoured. y politicians, diplomats and even royalty. Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II drove one personally, in fact.

This particular example is especially noteworthy as a rare left-hand drive variant, making it uncommonly seen on the global classic car market. The metallic grey with navy blue roof colour combination is reportedly the specification most sought after by collectors, and this example's provenance includes previous ownership by Thierry de Montcorgé, a significant name in French automotive circles.
With just 73,634 kilometres recorded, this 1969 Rover has been meticulously maintained and stored in a garage under a protective cover throughout its life. The current owner acquired the vehicle only a year and a half ago, and it presents as a well-preserved example of this aristocratic British saloon that offers luxury comparable to period Daimlers and Rolls-Royces.
